Summary
I was born in 1956 on México. I studied Biology at the Juarez University of Durango (UJED), Mexico, obtaining my degree in 1983, after working 2 years in the Secretary of Fishing in the Mexican Pacific Coast, I joined a research center in biotechnology in Jalisco (CIATEJ), México. In 1992, after having contracted marriage, I did postgraduate studies obtaining a Master of Science degree in 1994 and later a PhD in philosophy in biotechnology in 1997 at the Institute of Biotechnology of UNAM. Since then I work in the Biological Research Center of the Northwest (CIBNOR) in La Paz, Baja California Sur, México. For more than 20 years, I have been dedicated to generate molecular strategies to combat viral diseases of shrimp, in particular the disease caused by the white spot virus. Using two current platforms, the interference RNA and the silver nanoparticles, we are evaluating, both experimentally and in pilot application, "Biopharmaceuticals", with high possibilities of application in mass in the Mexican aquatic industry of shrimp.
