Graham Yearwood, Ph.D. is Director New Product Development for OraSure Technologies, Inc. Research & Development Department. He received his Ph.D. from City University (London) and his BSc. in Applied Chemistry from DeMontfort University(UK). Dr. Yearwood has over 20 years of experience in the design and developing of in-vitro diagnostic products. Before joining OraSure, Dr Yearwood worked with Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics, a Johnson & Johnson Company responsible for the technical lead developing conjugation methods, controls, raw materials and liquid formulations required for immunoassay development in clinical diagnostics and clinical chemistry. Dr. Yearwood has had responsibility for or direct involvement in, the development of robust and flexible processes to the development and manufacturing of diagnostic assays in the area of infectious disease.
For the past seven years, Dr. Yearwood has been involved in the development of design requirements, product optimization, material and process development, technology transfer, verification and validation of rapid, point-of-care assays for infectious disease and substance abuse tests utilizing whole blood and oral fluid.
