Amanda Callaghan
Summary
Amanda Callaghan is an Associate Professor of Invertebrate Ecotoxicology at the University of Reading, UK. She had a research group looking at the effect of anthropomorphic (man-made) chemicals on freshwater invertebrates including Daphnia and Culex mosquitoes. The group take many approaches which include basic ecology, biochemistry and gene expression. She has a background in pesticide resistance research with a particular emphasis on mosquitoes. She is currently also a Teaching and Learning Dean leading a University project on learning gain and is the curator of the Cole Museum of Zoology.
