Summary

I am an Associate Professor at the University of Cape Town in South Africa. My main interests are in obtaining a better understanding of plant water and nutrient relations and how these affect vegetation structure. In this regard I am particularly interested in the processes that define the boundaries between different vegetation types. I am also interested in the anthropogenic effect on the environment as I believe that people have affected the environment for many thousands of years.
