                    Summary
I am a vertebrate palaeontologist working on the evolution of reptiles in deep time. I am currently affiliated with Dr. Alan Turner’s lab (at the Department of Anatomical Sciences, Stony Brook University) as an honorary Research Associate.
My research interests include macroevolution and systematics of archosaurs and other reptiles. More specifically, my research has focused on the evolution of Crocodylomorpha, the >200-million-year old group that includes living crocodylians (crocodiles, alligators, caimans and gharials) and their extinct relatives.

Dr. Godoy's research interests broadly include phenotypic evolution and systematics of extinct reptiles, especially crocodylomorph archosaurs. More specifically, he studies morphological variation to perform phylogenetic and macroevolutionary quantitative analyses. Among the methodological approaches employed by him for studying trait evolution are model-fitting analyses, geometric morphometric techniques, morphological disparity estimation and other comparative phylogenetic methods. Additionally, he is interested in osteological description of fossil, with particular focus on the incredibly diverse and disparate crocodylomorph clade Notosuchia. Dr. Godoy joined the Department in 2019, to work under a NSF grant awarded to Dr. Alan Turner (https://bit.ly/2KxIkfS). During his time at Stony Brook University, he will be investigating morphological changes associated to ecological transitions during crocodylomorph evolutionary history, using a variety of quantitative methods.
