Akbar Hossain

Summary

Dr. Akbar Hossain is presently working as a principal scientist at Bangladesh Wheat and Maize Research Institute (BWMRI), Bangladesh. Dr. Hossain finished his Ph.D degree in the year 2013, from the Institute of Ecology and Biological Sciences, Astrakhan State University, Astrakhan-Russia. Research interest and expertise of Dr. Hossain are climate change impact assessment on food security, plant physiology, defence mechanisms against stress, crop management, agricultural engineering, weed management and conservation agriculture, crop modelling, nanotechnology etc. Dr. Hossain is also working as a research supervisor of Post Graduate students at the Department of Agronomy and Soil Science, Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University, Dinajpur and the Department of Agronomy, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymenisingh, Bangladesh. He is also working in several international projects related to plant physiology and conservation agriculture. He is authored more than 350 national and international journal publications. Besides these, he is also serving as a voluntary reviewer/editor in different journals.
