Summary

I am a conservation scientist and the Director of Science at Vermont Center for Ecostudies, where I provide leadership to a team of 8 outstanding conservation biologists that are working to conserve wildlife across the Americas through research, monitoring, and citizen engagement. In addition to conservation science, I have longstanding interests in science publishing and science communication in general, interests that I have pursued as a writer and editor for the USDA Forest Service and, more recently, as a freelance editor at PLOS Biology.

I have also worked as a consultant on issues of science and conservation to organizations and governments throughout the world, including WWF International, the Luc Hoffman Institute, USDA Forest Service, and the Canadian Wildlife Service.
