Summary

Dr Jones’s research area is in exercise oncology and utilises a translational approach to evaluate the use of combined modality exercise training to prevent and/or attenuate the physiological and functional effects of treatment on the cardiovascular system, physical fitness, and muscle strength in survivors of breast cancer. Studies also include research into the underlying mechanisms by which chemotherapy may lead to cardiovascular dysfunction. Much of this research is undertaken in breast cancer survivors attending the EXPINKT™ (Exercise Training Beyond Breast Cancer) clinic, a program designed by Dr Jones to provide breast cancer survivors with an individually tailored and monitored program of exercise.
