Dr. Wu, Kun-Chang has over six years of experience working in GMP-certified traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) manufacturing and has long served as a consultant for herbal-product companies. He possesses extensive practical expertise in herbal‐material investigation and species authentication. His laboratory is driven by the principle of developing simple and industry-feasible approaches to identify, resolve, or clarify real-world problems in the TCM supply chain. By integrating DNA-based molecular identification techniques with chromatographic methods such as TLC and HPLC for qualitative and quantitative analysis of marker (or bioactive) compounds, his research evaluates both the authenticity and quality of medicinal herbs. These studies aim to elucidate issues encountered in practice and to disseminate findings through international peer-reviewed publications, thereby contributing evidence-based data to strengthen the foundational research supporting the development of Taiwan’s herbal industry.
