Muhammad Riaz
Summary
Dr. Riaz works as Professor of Environmental Science at Government College University Faisalabad after earning his PhD in Environmental Science from University of York, UK in 2011. He received postdoctoral trainings at University of Adelaide Australia, WSL/ETH/UZH Switzerland and Radboud University Nijmegen Netherlands. His research interests include soil biogeochemistry, CNP cycling in natural, semi-natural and managed ecosystems, biochar for soil quality and C sequestration in agroecosystems, soil organic matter dynamics in arid and semiarid agriculture, soil quality and health indicators, organic waste cycling and recycling, nutrient and water use efficiencies in agriculture, and effects of pollutants including toxic metals on soil biological functions. He has over 70 peer-reviewed publications and 15 book chapters. He has been serving as reviewer for a number of peer-reviewed journals and an affiliated member of professional societies including British Society of Soil Science, Institute of Professional Soil Scientists, ASA/CSSA/SSSA, American Society of Microbiology and Soil Science Society of Pakistan.
