Summary
I am a microbial ecologist and my main motivation in research is to understand small and large scale ecological patterns of the microbial world. My favorite approach to apprehend microbial communities is high resolution genomics. I had the chance to uncover novel bacterial, archaeal and eukaryotic genomes from pristine soils, in relation to human heath, as well as from remote places such as polynyas emerging at summer from the ice along the Antarctic coastline.
I currently live in Chicago.
