Summary

I am a scientist, writer and freethinker with a research background in molecular biology. I earned my MSc – with distinction – from the University of Cape Town and my PhD from the University of Vienna where my thesis was rated as excellent. I have several first author research publications in international journals as well as writing published on various websites, including the UCT Division of Human Genetics' news page, the European Commission's OpenUP Hub and my own personal blog. I have taken a particular interest in the movement towards open science and am involved in activities with the aim of improving the way that science is undertaken.
