Summary

I am especially interested in insularized continental ecosystems such as salt marshes, campos de altitude, and cloud forests. In these naturally isolated environments, I study the biodiversity and ecology of birds and amphibians and the vegetation dynamics to understand adaptations and vulnerabilities to climate change. In salt marshes, I have been conducting continuous research for 14 years. By looking to overlooked environments, I discovered in them some undescribed species. I also work with conservation of nature, for example elaborating plans of conservation of endangered species and managing a conservation unit (Bicudinho do Brejo Reserve).
