Alfonso Méndez-Bravo

Summary

Laboratory Head as CONACyT Research Fellow at LANASE, ENES Morelia, UNAM, 2016-present. Dr. Méndez-Bravo was part of the international collaborative team to sequence and analyze structurally and functionally the genome of the Mexican avocado horticultural race and of some commercial cultivars of avocado Persea americana, under the Dr. Luis Herrera-Estrella´s leadership.
Méndez-Bravo´s research interests are i) Functional genomics of plant-pathogen interactions, ii) The defense signaling related to plant responses to fungal pathogens, iii) Molecular plant-microbe interactions with beneficial and detrimental bacteria in
Arabidopsis thaliana, and iv) Metagenomics and functional genomics of nectar-associated microbes in Mexican crops.
