Dr. Méndez-Bravo was part of the international collaborative team to sequence and analyze structurally and functionally the genome of the Mexican avocado horticultural race and of some commercial cultivars of avocado Persea americana, under the Dr. Luis Herrera-Estrella´s leadership.
