Dr Priya Madhavan is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Medicine, Taylor’s University. She obtained a basic degree in microbiology. Over the years, she has developed expertise in antimicrobial and anticancer activities from natural products, host-pathogen relationships, drug resistance in microorganisms, infectious and metabolic diseases. She had thus far obtained a quantum of USD 450,000 in research grants. Having had experience in a various fields, she continues to contribute her knowledge in teaching undergraduates and research supervision of postgraduates.
Dr Priya’s professional memberships include Malaysian Society of Microbiology, Malaysian Society of Tropical Medicine and Parasitology, Malaysian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (MSBMB), American Society of Microbiology (ASM), European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID), International Society of Human and Animal Mycology (ISHAM), International Society for Infectious Diseases (ISID) and Organisation for Women in Science in Developing Countries (OWSD). She is currently involved in the following research groups at her university, i.e. Ageing and Quality of Life, Infectious Diseases, Cancer Innovation and Metabolic Research, Experimental Medicine Research.
