Matt S Stock
Summary
Dr. Matt S. Stock is an Associate Professor at the University of Central Florida where he teaches within the Doctor of Physical Therapy program and directs the Neuromuscular Plasticity Laboratory. Dr. Stock obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Oklahoma. His research interests involve understanding the neuromuscular adaptations associated with aging, sarcopenia, resistance training, and disuse. Studies in his laboratory utilize electromyography, motor unit recordings, transcranial magnetic stimulation, twitch interpolation, B-mode ultrasonography, and muscle strength assessments. He has published over 75 peer-reviewed manuscripts in journals such as the Journals of Gerontology: Series A, the European Journal of Applied Physiology, and Muscle & Nerve. Dr. Stock is an active member of International Society of Electrophysiology and Kinesiology, the American Physiological Society, and the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). He is currently the President of the NSCA Foundation’s Board of Directors and serves as a Senior Associate Editor for the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research. In 2017, Dr. Stock was named the NSCA Educator of the Year. He enjoys spending time in the laboratory while working with students on their research projects.
