Summary

Francis (Jack) is a Professor at the University of Florida and a Senior Associate at the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR). In Florida he teaches and conducts research on fire ecology, ecosystems ecology, and general botany. The goal of his international research is to provide a solid ecological foundation for natural forest management in the tropics, which generally involves logging and other silvicultural treatments.
