Antonio Jesus Diaz-Honrubia

Antonio J. Díaz-Honrubia is an Associate Professor at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, to which he joined after holding an Assistant Professorship at Universidad de Oviedo and a part time Professorship at Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha (a job that he combined with a position in the R&D department of a private company in the telecommunications field).

He received his Ph.D. in 2016 from the Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha, where he had also received his B.Sc. (Spanish National Extraordinary Award) and M.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering.

His research interests include video transcoding, perceptual video coding, multimedia standards, scalable video coding, and simultaneous video coding. More recently, he is moving forward to the topic of data analysis and validation.

He has been a visiting researcher at Ghent University (Belgium) for 4 months, the Florida Atlantic University (USA) for 3 months, and the Technische Informationsbibliothek (TIB) (Germany) for 6 months.

He has more than 30 publications in these areas in international refereed journals and conference proceedings.

Andrea Esuli

Andrea Esuli is a senior researcher of the Italian National Research Council. His research interests are in the fields of multimedia information retrieval, machine learning, and text classification. He holds a PhD in Information Engineering from the University of Pisa. He is the recipient of the 2010 Cor Baayen Award, from the European Research Council for Informatics and Mathematics.

Michael Felderer

Prof. Michael Felderer is the Director of the Institute of Software Technology at German Aerospace Center (DLR) and full professor at the University of Cologne. His fields of expertise and interest include software testing and quality assurance, AI engineering, software systems engineering for quantum and digital twin technologies as well as empirical software engineering. He was a professor at the University of Innsbruck (Austria), guest professor at the Blekinge Institute of Technology (Sweden) as well as CEO of the academic spin-off QE LaB Business Services. His research is performed in close collaboration with organizations and companies, and directed towards the development and evaluation of efficient and effective methods to improve the quality, trustworthiness and value of software systems and processes. Michael Felderer has co-authored more than 150 publications and received 14 best paper awards. He is recognized by the Journal of Systems and Software (JSS) as one of the twenty most active established Software Engineering researchers world-wide in the period 2013 to 2020. Laszlo T Koczy

Laszlo T. Koczy received the Ph.D. degree from the Technical University of Budapest (BME) in 1977, and the D.Sc. (a postdoctoral degree) from the Hungarian Academy of Science in 1998. He spent his career at BME until 2001, and from 2002 at Széchenyi István University (Győr, SZE), where he was Dean of Engineering, and had been from 2013 to 2022 President of the University Research and of the University Ph.D. Councils. In March 2022 he received the Professor Emeritus title from both universities.

His main research activities have been in the field of Computational Intelligence, especially in fuzzy systems, evolutionary and memetic algorithms, and neural networks, as well as applications in engineering, logistics, management, etc. He has published over 750 research articles with over 3000 fully independent and about 7800 Google Scholar citations. His h-index is 41.

Ana G Maguitman

Ana Gabriela Maguitman is a Researcher at the National Council for Science and Technology (CONICET) of Argentina and an Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of the Universidad Nacional del Sur (Argentina). She obtained her PhD in Computer Science at Indiana University (USA). Dr. Maguitman leads the Knowledge Management and Information Retrieval Research Group at Universidad Nacional del Sur (http://ir.cs.uns.edu.ar/).

M Murugappan

Prof. Dr. M. Murugappan is currently a Full Professor of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Kuwait College of Science and Technology (KCST), Kuwait. In India, Malaysia, and Kuwait, he taught and conducted research for more than 15 years. Stanford University researchers ranked him in the top 2-percent of scientists worldwide in 2020, 2021, and 2022 for Experimental Psychology, Artificial Intelligence, and Cognitive Neuroscience.

He has authored 70 articles in SCI/SCOPUS journals, 58 conference proceedings, seven book chapters, and edited eight books. Google Scholar records a maximum score of 5654+ citations, along with an H index of 37 and an i10 score of 81 (Ref: Google Scholar). He has been awarded nearly $2.5M for his research by the Malaysian government and the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS).

Prof. Murugappan is a member of professional international societies such as IEEE, IET, IACSIT, IAENG, IEI and a Charted Engineer (C.Eng). He has given expert talks in Affective Computing, Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare, and Affective Neuroscience. He is currently the IEEE Kuwait Section's Chair of Educational Activities. Affective Computing, Affective Neuroscience, Cognitive Neuroscience, Brain-Computer Interface, Neuromarketing, Neuroeconomics, Medical Image Processing, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence are his primary interests. He has also guided 14 postgraduate students, 9 Ph.D., and 5 M.Sc.

He is currently an Editorial Board member for PLOS ONE (Q2), Human Centric Information Sciences (Q1), the Journal of Medical Imaging and Health Informatics (Q4), and the International Journal of Cognitive Informatics. He is serving as an editor in several peer-reviewed journals such as PlosOne, HCIS, JMIHI

Hoang Nguyen

Dr. Hoang Nguyen is a Lecturer (Computational biologist, data scientist, and computer scientist) within the School of Innovation, Design, and Technology at the Wellington Institute of Technology in New Zealand.

His research interests include Applied Data Science, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Computer-aided Drug Design, Bioinformatics, and Health informatics.

Pierpaolo Pani

Dr. Pierpaolo Pani is a Associate Professor within the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology, SAPIENZA, University of Rome. He received a MSc in Experimental Psychology and PhD in Neurophysiolgy (Behavioral and Integrative) at Sapienza University (Rome), and was a post-doc in KULeuven (Laboratory for Neuro- and Psychophysiology).

Dr. Pani's main topics of investigation include Cognitive control, executive functions, goal-oriented behavior and decision making. These topics include behavioral and psychophysiological investigations in humans; behavioral and neuronal dynamics investigations in mammals; characterization of executive functions control in psychiatric conditions.

Marco Piangerelli

Dr. Marco Piangerelli had his M.Sc. in Bioengineering from the University of Bologna and got his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Camerino, where he is currently a Research Associate. His research interests are mainly on Unsupervised techniques for Machine Learning and Data Science in Manufacturing and Bio Science, Self-Adaptive Systems, and Topological Data Analysis. He is the author of many publications and was a PC member for many conferences and Workshops (AAAI-MAKE 2022-23-24 Spring Symposium, SACAIR 2023, DESRIST 2023, ATDA2019). He co-organized the 9th International Workshop on Engineering Energy Efficient InternetWorked Smart seNsors (E3WSN ) hosted by the 37th International Conference on Advanced Information Networking and Applications (AINA) at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora, Brazil. He has experience in Technological transfer projects and actively collaborates with international companies (INGKA, Schnell S.p.A., Sigma S.p.A., and Nuova Simonelli S.P.A.) and Italian ones (Syeew S.r.l). In 2024, he will be a Visiting Researcher at Addis Ababa University (Ethiopia) to work on topics related to his research fields.

Michela Quadrini

Current research is focused on Artificial Intelligence, Bioinformatics, Formal methods and Languages for the modelling, analysis and verification of Distributed Systems.

Khalid Raza

Khalid Raza is an Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science, Jamia Millia Islamia (Central University), New Delhi. Dr. Raza has been honored with “ICCR Chair Visiting Professor” by Indian Council for Cultural Relation (ICCR), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of India and deputed at the Faculty of Computer & Information Sciences, Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt during academic session 2017-18. He has over 12 years of teaching and research experience in the field of Translational Bioinformatics and Computational Intelligence applications in healthcare. He has contributed over 120 research articles in reputed Journals and Edited Books. Dr. Raza has authored/edited 6 Books published by reputed publishers like Springer-Nature, Elsevier, and CRC Press. Dr. Raza is an Academic Editor of PeerJ Computer Science International Journal, and Guest Editor of the Journal Natural Product Communications. He has an active collaborations with the scientists from leading institutions of India and abroad, including AIIMS (New Delhi), ICMR-NIP, CSIR-IGIB, DRDO-INMAS, NIPGR, CCRUM, DPSRU, UFMG (Brazil), UoT Sydney (Australia), etc. He has reviewed over 200 research articles for reputed Journals/Conferences in the last 5 years. Dr. Raza has delivered several keynote addresses, invited talks, public lectures, and seminars in National and International conferences, workshops, and chaired technical sessions at various conferences. He has served as the technical program committee members of several international conferences and workshops. He has also executed two Indian governments funded research projects. Dr. Raza is a member of MIR Lab (USA), CSI (India), and SCRS (India). His research interest includes Computational Intelligence methods and its applications in Bioinformatics and Health-informatics. Recently, Dr. Raza has been featured in the list of Top 2% Scientists released by Stanford University (USA) in collaboration with Elsevier.

Nicolas P Rougier

I’m a full-time research scientist at Inria. This is a public scientific and technological establishment (EPST) under the double supervision of the Research & Education Ministry, and the Ministry of Economy Finance and Industry. I’m working at the frontier between integrative and computational neuroscience in association with the Institute of Neurodegenerative Diseases, the Laboratoire Bordelais de Recherche en Informatique, the University of Bordeaux and the CNRS. My research deals with decision-making, self-organization, spatial computing, artificial neural networks & open science.
