Gonzalo Campillo-Alvarado

Gonzalo Campillo-Alvarado is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Reed College in Portland, OR, USA. His research focuses on designing functional and dynamic (i.e., stimuli-responsive) crystalline materials, with an emphasis on boron, for applications of chemical separations, pharmaceutics, petrochemistry, and electronics. His lab integrates knowledge of organic-, supramolecular-, reversible- and mechanochemistry.

Before joining Reed, he was an Illinois Distinguished Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (USA). He received his PhD in Chemistry from the University of Iowa (USA) as a CONACyT fellow, and his BSc in Biopharmaceutical Chemistry from Universidad Veracruzana (Mexico).

Yu Dong

Dr. Yu Dong is Associate Professor in Mechanical Engineering, School of Civil and Mechanical Engineering at Curtin University, Australia. He has extensive research expertise in polymer nanocomposites, electrospun nanofibres, green composites, micromechanical modelling, nanomanufacturing and design of experiments. He is a lead editor for "Manufacturing, Characterisation and Properties of Advanced Nanocomposites", MDPI, Switzerland , and "Fillers and Reinforcements for Advanced Nanocomposites", Elsevier, UK, and a sole editor for "Nanostructures: Properties, Production Methods and Applications", NOVA Science Publishers, USA. Dr. Dong is an associate editor for Journals of Frontiers in Materials (Polymeric and Composite Materials section) and Applied Nanoscience.

Jeremiah J Gassensmith

Jeremiah's research focuses on several areas:

Development of stimuli responsive "smart" biomaterials
Creating new thermosalient molecular crystalline materials
Using metal-organic frameworks for native protein (i.e. drug) delivery
Supramolecular and macromolecular organic radical contrast agents as MRI sensors

Jorge Gonzalez Garcia

I obtained my PhD from the University of Valencia (Spain) focused on Supramolecular & Bioinorganic Chemistry, in which I worked in metalloenzymes mimetics and anion receptors. Upon completing my PhD in 2013, I performed several postdoctoral research positions in the University of Kansas (USA) and Institute Curie (France), in which I specialized in the development of drugs for non-canonical nucleic acids such as G-quadruplexes, triplexes or i-motifs. Then, I joined the Department of Chemistry at Imperial College London as Newton Fellow to develop new tools to target and visualize G-quadruplexes in cells. I continued my projects as IdEx Fellow in the European Institute of Chemistry and Biology in Bordeaux (France). Actually, I’ve started my team in the Institute of Molecular Science in the University of Valencia, where I’ve developed novel systems and methodologies to target non-canonical DNA structures and unravel their biological roles.

Jui-Yang Lai

Dr. Jui-Yang Lai received his Ph.D. from the Department of Chemical Engineering, National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan. Since 2014, he is a Full Professor at Chang Gung University, Taiwan. Dr. Lai’s primary research activities are centered on the design and development of functional biomaterials, either from natural or synthetic sources, for ophthalmic use, particularly on tissue engineering, drug delivery, and nanomedicine. His major research projects involve ocular biocompatibility assessment, corneal/retinal cell construct fabrication, topical/intraocular pharmaceutical dosage formulation, and metallic/carbon-based nanotherapeutics evaluation. Dr. Lai has published more than 100 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals and filed numerous patent applications. He actively participates in the peer review process for scientific publications and also serves as a member of the editorial board of several scholarly journals.

Artem Mishchenko

Artem Mishchenko is a Senior Research Fellow in the School of Physics and Astronomy, the University of Manchester. His research interests are in the fields of condensed matter physics and nanotechnology, with the emphasis on quantum transport in van der Waals materials; in addition, he has strong expertise in electronics, nanoelectromechanical systems, and instrumentation development. The major contributions to these fields have been published in over 70 peer-referred papers, many in Science and Nature journals, leading to more than 12000 citations and h-index of 33. He is regularly invited to present his results on international conferences; he also leads the collaboration between Manchester and High Magnetic Field Facilities in Europe. He has initiated several new research directions, such as a tunnelling and capacitance spectroscopy of van der Waals heterostructures, and nanoelectromechanics in 2D materials; his works led to the development of many new functional devices, including nanoscale transistors and photovoltaic sensors. As a recognition of his achievements, he has received several prestigious awards including SNSF Fellowship, EPSRC Early Career Fellowship, and EMFL Prize 2018. He is also named in 2018 list of Highly Cited Researchers from Clarivate Analytics.

Dr. Yogendra Mishra is a Professor in Nanomaterials at the Mads Clausen Institute, University of Southern Denmark, Sonderborg, Denmark.

Sreeprasad T Sreenivasan

Sreeprasad Sreenivasan is an Asst. Professor in the department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at The University of Texas at El Paso. After completing his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Indian Institute of Technology Madras, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Kansas State University and Rice University. Before joining UTEP, Dr. Sreenivasan was a faculty member at Clemson University (Research Scientist) and University of Toledo (Research Asst. Professor). His research interest is in two-dimensional quantum materials. In addition to probing the fundamental properties, his lab also applies quantum structures with engineered properties for electronics, energy, sensing, and biomedical applications.
