Alessio Martino

Alessio Martino graduated summa cum laude in Communications Engineering at University of Rome "La Sapienza", Italy, 2016. From 2016 to 2019, he served as PhD Research Fellow in Information and Communications Technologies at the same University (Department of Information Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunications), with a final dissertation on pattern recognition techniques in non-metric domains. During his PhD, he also served as scientific collaborator with Consortium for Research in Automation and Telecommunication, Rome, Italy.

After obtaining the PhD, he was granted a 1-year Post Doctoral Research Fellowship at University of Rome "La Sapienza" and a 1-year Post Doctoral Research Fellowship at the Italian National Research Council (Institute of Cognitive Sciences and Technologies). Since February 2022, he is Assistant Professor of Computer Science at LUISS University.

His research interests include machine learning, computational intelligence and knowledge discovery. Currently he's focusing on large-scale machine learning, advanced pattern recognition systems, big data analysis, parallel and distributed computing, granular computing and complex systems modelling, in applications including bioinformatics and computational biology, natural language processing and energy distribution networks.

He serves as Editor for several journals and regularly serves as Technical Program Committee member for several international conferences. Alessio Martino is also a member of the IEEE.

Robert H McDonald

Robert H. McDonald is Dean of University Libraries and Professor of Library Administration. He is responsible for leading the Boulder campus library system in fulfilling their mission to inspire learning, research, and discovery by connecting knowledge, information, and people.

His expertise and interests include teaching and learning technologies that enable libraries to better support researchers at all levels, open source software development, scholarly communications, and new model publishing. Robert has also been an active proponent of diversity initiatives in libraries throughout his career and is committed to creating library spaces that are welcoming, diverse and inclusive for all of our Library users.

Gang Mei

Dr. Gang Mei is an Associate Professor in Scientific Computing in Engineering at China University of Geosciences (Beijing). He received his Ph.D degree in 2014 from the University of Freiburg in Germany. His main research interests are in the areas of Numerical Simulation and Computational Modeling, GPU Computing, Machine Learning, Data Mining, and Network Science and Applications. He is the IEEE Member, and has served as an Academic Editor for the journals IEEE Access, and PeerJ Computer Science.

Filippo Menczer

Filippo Menczer is a distinguished professor of informatics and computer science and director of the Observatory on Social Media at Indiana University. He holds a Laurea in Physics from the Sapienza University of Rome and a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Cognitive Science from the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Menczer is an ACM Fellow and a board member of the IU Network Science Institute. His research interests span Web and data science, computational social science, science of science, and modeling of complex information networks. In the last ten years, his lab has led efforts to study online misinformation spread and to develop tools to detect and counter social media manipulation.

Kamesh Munagala

Kamesh Munagala is Associate Professor of Computer Science at Duke University, where he has been employed since 2004. He obtained his Ph.D. from Stanford University in 2003 and B.Tech. from IIT Bombay in 1998. He is broadly interested in algorithm design, particularly approximation algorithms, sequential decision theory, and algorithmic game theory. He is a recipient of the NSF CAREER Award, the
Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellowship, and the best paper award at the WWW
2009 conference.

Christopher J Mungall

I am a Computer Research Scientist in the Environmental Genomics and Systems Biology division at Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory. My work focuses on computational methods for representing and interpreting complex biological data, in particular through the development and application of knowledge representation structures such as ontologies.

Anand Nayyar

Dr. Anand Nayyar received his Ph.D (Computer Science) from Desh Bhagat University in 2017 in the area of Wireless Sensor Networks and Swarm Intelligence. He is currently working in Graduate School, Duy Tan University, Da Nang, Vietnam. A Certified Professional with 75+ Professional certificates from CISCO, Microsoft, Oracle, Google, Beingcert, EXIN, GAQM, Cyberoam and many more. Dr. Nayyar has published more than 350 Research Papers in various National & International Conferences, International Journals (Scopus/SCI/SCIE/SSCI Indexed) with a high Impact Factor. He is a member of more than 50+ Associations as Senior and Life Member and also acting as ACM Distinguished Speaker. He has authored/co-authored cum Edited 25+ Books of Computer Science. Associated with more than 500 International Conferences as Programme Committee/Chair/Advisory Board/Review Board member. He has 5 Australian Patents to his credit in the area of Wireless Communications and Artificial Intelligence. He is currently working in the area of Wireless Sensor Networks, MANETS, Swarm Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Internet of Things, Blockchain, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Cyber Security, Network Simulation, Wireless Communications. Awarded 27+ Awards for Teaching and Research—Young Scientist, Best Scientist, Young Researcher Award, Outstanding Researcher Award, Excellence in Teaching and many more. He is acting as Editor-in-Chief of IGI-Global, USA-- (IJSVST)”.

Alexander C Nwala

Dr. Alexander C. Nwala is an assistant professor of Data Science at William and Mary (W&M). Before joining W&M, he was a postdoc at the Observatory on Social Media, Indiana University, Bloomington, with a research focus on dis/misinformation diffusion, detection, and countering of online manipulation. He received his PhD in Computer Science at Old Dominion University and has contributed multiple important tools and datasets to the data/web science, social media, (local) news, and web archiving communities.

Dr. Nwala has taught Computer Science courses to High School, Undergraduate, and Graduate students and has collaborated across disciplines and institutions, including with computer scientists/journalists at IU, archivists at the National Library of Medicine, and lawyers at Harvard. And his research has been published in multiple peer-reviewed Journals and Conferences.

Vera Pancaldi

I was trained as a physicist at Imperial College London and soon found my way in systems and computational biology. Since 2018 I lead a computational biology team at the Cancer Research Center of Toulouse (CRCT) working on modelling cancer and its interactions with the immune system.

I have worked on various projects on stress response in fission yeast and prediction of protein interactions (in the group of Jurg Bahler at Sanger Institute/University College London), epigenomics and hybrid vigour in plants (with David Baulcombe at Cambridge University) and integrative epigenomics in cancer (with Alfonso Valencia at CNIO, Madrid and Barcelona Supercomputing Center). My main current focus is understanding the relationship between genome architecture and heterogeneity at various levels and relating heterogeneity of tumour infiltrating immune cells to patient's prognoses in different cancers. I also co-founded Cambridge Networks Network in 2011, an online forum for scientists interested in networks in Cambridge in beyond.

Gabriella Pasi

Gabriella Pasi is Full Professor at the University of Milano Bicocca, Italy, where she leads the Information Retrieval research Lab within the Department of Informatics, Systems and Communication. Her research activity mainly addresses the definition of models and techniques for a personalized access to information (in particular related to the tasks of information Retrieval and Filtering). She is also working on the analysis of user generated content in social media.

Tomas Perez-Acle

Radia Perlman

Inventor of innovations that make today's network protocols scalable, robust, and self-organizing. In particular, link state routing, spanning tree, and TRILL. Also, innovations in security including distributed algorithms resilient against malicious participants, assured expiration of data from storage, and PKI trust models.
