Giuseppe Agapito
Giuseppe Agapito is an associate professor and a senior research scientist in the field of Parallel and Distributed Computing, Machine Learning and Graph Theory at the University Magna Græcia, Catanzaro. His research interests focus on the study of machine learning methods that can be used to take advantage of the vast amount of data that are produced nowadays. In particular, the research focuses on the development, implementation, and application of computational intelligence techniques for addressing complex real-world problems in different domains, especially in the field of biology and omics sciences.
Giuseppe Agapito has published his research in various top-quality academic outlets, with more than 100 papers in international journals and conference proceedings. He serves as a reviewer for several scientific journals and a chair and program committee member of several national and international conferences.
Muhammad Aleem
Muhammad Aleem received his Ph.D. degree with distinction in computer science from Leopold-Franzens University, Innsbruck, Austria in 2012. His research interests include parallel and distributed computing comprise programming environments, multi-/many-core computing, performance analysis, cloud computing, and big-data processing. He has published more than 50 research papers in the reputed Journals and International conferences and authored 3 book chapters and 2 books. He is a co-director of the Parallel Computing and Networks (PCN) research group. He is currently working as Professor at National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences, Islamabad, Pakistan.
Ilkay Altintas
Ilkay Altintas is a research scientist at SDSC, UCSD since 2001. She has worked on different aspects of data science and scientific computing in leadership roles across a wide range of cross-disciplinary projects. She is a co-initiator of and an active contributor to the open-source Kepler Workflow System, and co-author of publications at the intersection of scientific workflows, provenance, distributed computing, bioinformatics, sensor systems, conceptual data querying, and software modeling.
Claudio A Ardagna
Claudio A. Ardagna is a Full Professor and Vice Director of the Data Science Research Center at Università degli Studi di Milano. He has been visiting scholar at George Mason University, Fairfax, VA, USA and at Khalifa University, Abu Dhabi, UAE. His areas of interest include Big Data Analytics-as-a-Service, Edge/Cloud security and performance, security assurance and certification of distributed and cyber-physical systems, machine learning model verification. In these areas, he published more than 30 journal papers, 100 book chapters and refereed articles in proceedings of international conferences, and 10 books as an author or editor. He is co-author of the book “Open Source Systems Security Certifications” (with E. Damiani, N. El Ioini, Springer, 2008), co-inventor of the European Patent titled “Method, System, Network and Computer Program Product for Positioning in a Mobile Communications Network”, and co-founder of Moon Cloud (www.moon-cloud.eu), a spin-off of the Università degli Studi di Milano. He is an IEEE Senior Member, has been a recipient of International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP) Silver Core Award “in recognition of outstanding services to IFIP” in 2013, and has been recipient of the ERCIM (European Research Consortium for Informatics and Mathematics) WG STM 2009 Award for the Best Ph.D. Thesis on Security and Trust Management.
Khursheed Aurangzeb
Dr. Khursheed Aurangzeb is Associate Professor in Department of Computer Engineering at College of Computer and Information Sciences at King Saud University (KSU), Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He received his Ph.D. degree in Electronics Design from Mid Sweden University Sweden in June 2013, MS degree in Electrical Engineering (System on Chip Design) from Linkoping University, Sweden in 2009. He received his B.S. degree in Computer Engineering from COMSATS Institute of Information Technology Abbottabad, Pakistan in 2006. He has authored and co-authored more than 70 publications including IEEE / ACM / Springer / Hindawi / MDPI journals, and flagship conference papers. He has obtained more than fifteen years of excellent experience as instructor and researcher in data analytics, machine/deep learning, signal processing, electronics circuits/systems and embedded systems. He has been involved in many research projects as a principal investigator and a co-principal investigator. His research interest are in the diverse fields of embedded systems, computer architecture, VLSI, signal processing, wireless sensor networks, camera based sensor networks, AI/ML/DL and smart grids with an emphasis on big data, precision agriculture, machine/deep learning, embedded and pervasive computing, mobile cloud computing and healthcare.
Henri Bal
Henri Bal is a full professor in Computer Science. He is a Member of the Academia Europeana and winner of the Euro-Par 2014 Achievement Award. He is scientific director of the ASCI research school (which has 130 Ph.D. students) and has been leading the Dutch DAS (Distributed ASCI Supercomputer) project for the past 12 years. He is a member of the steering committee of HPDC and CCGrid, two major conferences in this area.

Mario Luca Bernardi
I received the Laurea degree in Computer Science Engineering from the University of Naples Federico II, Italy, in 2003 and the Ph.D. degree in Information Engineering from the University of Sannio in 2007.
Since 2003 I have worked as a researcher in the field of software engineering writing more than 90 papers published in journals and conference proceedings. My main research interests include software maintenance and testing, software reuse, software reverse engineering, and re-engineering, with a particular interest in software modularization.
I also served both as a member of the program and organizing committees of several international conferences, and as a reviewer of papers submitted to some of the main journals and magazines in the field of data and process mining, software engineering, software maintenance, program comprehension, and the application of computational intelligence approaches in the above fields.
Currently, I am an Senior Researcher at University of Sannio, holding the course of "Pervasive Computing".
M Emilia Cambronero
María Emilia Cambronero received a Ph.D. degree from the University of Castilla-La Mancha, in 2007, where she was an Assistant Professor for several years. She is currently a Full Professor of computer science with Castilla-La Mancha University, Spain. Her research goals are aimed to make the software more reliable, more secure, and easier to design. Her research interests include software engineering and related areas, including contract specification, program monitoring, testing, and verification. Her research combines strong theoretical foundations with realistic experimentation in the areas of web services and cloud computing.
Alberto Cano
Alberto Cano is an Associate Professor with the Department of Computer Science, Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, Virginia, United States, where he heads the High-Performance Data Mining laboratory. His research is focused on machine learning, data mining, big data, evolutionary computation, general-purpose computing on graphics processing units, and distributed computing.
Marta Cimitile
Marta Cimitile received her degree with full marks and honors in Ingegneria Gestionale in 11/12/2003 from the Facoltà degli Studi di Napoli “Federico II”, presenting a thesis in “Enterprise management: organizational and technical problems related to implementation of a CRM”.
She has also received her PhD in software engineering at the Department of Informatics in the University of Bari, presenting a thesis in: “Knowledge Economy in Software Engineering”.
Currently she is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the Faculty of Economics of the Unitelma Sapienza in Rome (Italy). Her main research is in the study and evolution of Process Mining, Process and Knowledge Management and Knowledge transfer in Open Innovation.
She was involved in several industrial projects for the realization of an Experience Factory for the knowledge storing and reuse and she made several teaching and training activities in the context of these research projects . She is also partner of the SER&Practices spin off company of the University of Bari.
Fabio Cumbo
Fabio Cumbo is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Center for Computational Life Sciences of the Cleveland Clinic's Lerner Research Institute in Cleveland, OH.
He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Automation Engineering from the University of Roma Tre in 2019, and his BSc. and MSc. in Software Engineering from the same University in 2012 and 2014 respectively. From November 2018 to December 2021 he was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Cellular, Computational and Integrative Biology (CIBIO) of the University of Trento, Italy. Fabio
