Xiangjie Kong
Dr. Xiangjie Kong is currently a Full Professor in the College of Computer Science & Technology, Zhejiang University of Technology (ZJUT), China. Previously, he was an Associate Professor in School of Software, Dalian University of Technology (DUT), China, where he was the Head of the Department of Cyber Engineering. He is the Founding Director of City Science of Social Computing Lab (The CSSC Lab) (http://cssclab.cn/). He is/was on the Editorial Boards of 6 International journals. He has served as the General Co-Chair, Workshop Chair, Publicity Chair or Program Committee Member of over 30 conferences. Dr. Kong has authored/co-authored over 140 scientific papers in international journals and conferences including IEEE TKDE, ACM TKDD, IEEE TNSE, IEEE TII, IEEE TITS, IEEE NETW, IEEE COMMUN MAG, IEEE TVT, IEEE IOJ, IEEE TSMC, IEEE TETC, IEEE TASE, IEEE TCSS, WWWJ, etc.. 5 of his papers is selected as ESI- Hot Paper (Top 1‰), and 16 papers are ESI-Highly Cited Papers (Top 1%). His research has been reported by Nature Index and other medias. He has been invited as Reviewer for numerous prestigious journals including IEEE TKDE, IEEE TMC, IEEE TNNLS, IEEE TNSE, IEEE TII, IEEE IOTJ, IEEE COMMUN MAG, IEEE NETW, IEEE TITS, TCJ, JASIST, etc.. Dr. Kong has authored/co-authored three books (in Chinese). He has contributed to the development of 14 copyrighted software systems and 20 filed patents. He has an h-index of 36 and i10-index of 87, and a total of more than 4200 citations to his work according to Google Scholar. He is named in the2019 and 2020 world’s top 2% of Scientists List published by Stanford University. Dr. Kong received IEEE Vehicular Technology Society 2020 Best Land Transportation Paper Award, and The Natural Science Fund of Zhejiang Province for Distinguished Young Scholars. He has been invited as Keynote Speaker at 2 international conferences, and delivered a number of Invited Talks at international conferences and many universities worldwide. His research interests include big data, network science, and computational social science. He is a Distinguished Member of CCF, a Senior Member of IEEE, a Full Member of Sigma Xi, and a Member of ACM.
Ee-Peng Lim
Ee-Peng Lim received Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis in 1994 and B.Sc. in Computer Science from National University of Singapore. His research interests include social network and web mining, information integration, and digital libraries. He is currently an Associate Editor of the ACM Transactions on Information Systems, ACM Transactions on the Web, IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering.
Ana G Maguitman
Ana Gabriela Maguitman is a Principal Researcher at the National Council for Science and Technology (CONICET) of Argentina and an Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of the Universidad Nacional del Sur (Argentina). She obtained her PhD in Computer Science at Indiana University (USA). Dr. Maguitman leads the Knowledge Management and Information Retrieval Research Group at Universidad Nacional del Sur. Her main research areas include Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, and Information Retrieval.
Robert H McDonald
Robert H. McDonald is Dean of University Libraries and Professor of Library Administration. He is responsible for leading the Boulder campus library system in fulfilling their mission to inspire learning, research, and discovery by connecting knowledge, information, and people.
His expertise and interests include teaching and learning technologies that enable libraries to better support researchers at all levels, open source software development, scholarly communications, and new model publishing. Robert has also been an active proponent of diversity initiatives in libraries throughout his career and is committed to creating library spaces that are welcoming, diverse and inclusive for all of our Library users.
Maria Navarro-Caceres
Dr. Maria Navarro-Caceres is an Associate Professor and Computer Scientist at the University of Salamanca.
She is interested in ML and DL proposals, and also in the application of computing technologies to artistic and musical perspectives.
Gabriella Pasi
Gabriella Pasi is Full Professor at the University of Milano Bicocca, Italy, where she leads the Information Retrieval research Lab within the Department of Informatics, Systems and Communication. Her research activity mainly addresses the definition of models and techniques for a personalized access to information (in particular related to the tasks of information Retrieval and Filtering). She is also working on the analysis of user generated content in social media.
Silvio Peroni
I hold a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and I am an Associate Professor at the Department of Classical Philology and Italian Studies, University of Bologna, where I teach 'Basic Informatics' and 'Computational Thinking and Programming'.
I am an expert in document markup and semantic descriptions of bibliographic entities using OWL ontologies. I am one of the main developers of the SPAR (Semantic Publishing and Referencing) Ontologies, Co-Director of OpenCitations, and founding member of the Initiative for Open Citations (I4OC).
I am an Editorial Board member of Data Science, PeerJ Computer Science, and I am member of the Digital Humanities Advanced Research Centre (/DH.arc), part of the Advisory Board of DBLP and Qeios, Ambassador of Figshare and PeerJ, and member of the Association for Computing Machinery, of the International Society for Scientometrics and Informetrics, and of the Associazione per l’Informatica Umanistica e la Cultura Digitale.
Among my research interests are Semantic Web technologies, markup languages for complex documents, design patterns for digital documents and ontology modelling, and automatic processes of analysis and segmentation of documents. In particular, my recent works concern the empirical analysis of the nature of scholarly citations, bibliometrics and scientometrics studies, visualisation and browsing interfaces for semantic data, and the development of ontologies to manage, integrate and query bibliographic information.
Kaize Shi
Kaize Shi is with the Data Science and Machine Intelligence Lab, University of Technology Sydney. He has PhD degrees in computer science and computer systems, which are from the Beijing Institute of Technology, China, and the University of Technology Sydney, Australia. His research interests include natural language generation, social computing, cyber-physical-social systems, meteorological knowledge services, intelligent transportation, and artificial intelligence technology. He is the associate editor of IEEE Transactions on Computational Social Systems and academic editor of PeerJ Computer Science and Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing. He also served as a guest editor for the Information Fusion, International Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, etc. He served as a program committee member for conferences of ACL, EMNLP, NeurIPS, SIGKDD, ICDM, etc. He is a member of the Artificial Intelligence Technical Committee of the China Meteorological Service Association.
Tamara Sumner
I lead an interdisciplinary research and development lab that studies how computational tools - combining cognitive science, machine intelligence, and interactive media - can improve teaching practice, learning outcomes and learner engagement. Inquiry Hub, formerly known as Digital Learning Sciences, is a mission-centered, research-practice partnership involving faculty and students from the University of Colorado Boulder, scientific and technical staff from the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR), and educators and administrators from Denver Public Schools. Our research and development team combines expertise in cognitive science, learning sciences, science education, user-centered design and evaluation, digital content management, software engineering, educational data mining, and machine learning/natural language processing.
I am also a Professor at the University of Colorado, with a joint appointment between the Institute of Cognitive Science and the Department of Computer Science. I am currently serving as the Director of the Institute of Cognitive Science. My research and teaching interests include personalized learning, learning analytics, cyber learning environments, educational digital libraries, scholarly communications, human centered computing, and interdisciplinary research methods for studying cognition. I have written 140 articles on these topics, including over 80 peer-reviewed scholarly publications.
