Vikas N O'Reilly-Shah
Vikas N. O'Reilly-Shah, MD, PhD, is Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at Emory University School of Medicine and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. His clinical expertise and research interests include perioperative outcomes and management, applications of technology for the improvement of resident and fellow education, and leveraging modern electronic medical records for research and quality improvement. After obtaining his MD and PhD in Biochemistry from Vanderbilt University, he completed anesthesiology residency and pediatric anesthesiology fellowship training at Stanford University and Lucille Packard Children's Hospital. In addition to his clinical work, he leads his departmental data governance and mining efforts. He is an app developer and has published two medical apps with global reach that have been downloaded more than 300,000 times, and has published several papers in the area of mHealth based on this work. He was recently appointed as an American Board of Anesthesiology Part 2 (Oral) Board Examiner and to the American Society of Anesthesiology Committee on Electronic Media and Information Technology.
