Summary

Marine mammal science PhD with extensive experience in research and policy advice. My research interests lie in the field of marine mammal population assessment. As an applied scientist, my work is driven by conservation and the need to manage activities in the marine environment. I have worked in the charity, commercial and academic sectors and in 2011 moved into a policy role within a UK government nature conservation agency (Joint Nature Conservation Committee). This role, as Senior Marine Species Advisor is dependent on effective application and interpretation of science and communication of advice to a wide range of stakeholders
