José Ciro Hernández-Díaz
Summary
I was born and raised in the state of Durango, Mexico.
1970-1977 I studied the Forest career at the National School of Agriculture, Chapingo, Mex. (Today Chapingo Autonomous University)
1981-1983 Master in Forest Economics (Graduate College and Colorado State University).
1986-1988 Doctorate in Economics and Forest Management (Colorado State University, USA).
From 1979-1999, I worked at the former INIF, which in 1987 merged into INIFAP.
From 2000-2002, I was Deputy Delegate of Natural Resources at SEMARNAP-SEMARNAT, Durango.
2003 to date, Full-time Professor-Researcher at the Institute of Forestry and Wood Industry, Universidad Juárez del Estado de Durango (ISIMA-UJED), participating in the Institutional Doctorate and Institutional Master in Agricultural Sciences and Forestry (DICAF and MICAF) and bachelor's degree in the Faculty of Forest Sciences, of the same University.
Member of the National System of Researchers (SNI) of CONACYT.
Most of my research and teaching work has revolved around:
1. Supply of raw materials to the wood industry and its relationship with forestry and forest management.
2. Analysis of costs in forestry activities (plant production, plantations and reforestation, supply, coal production, sawn timber production).
3. In recent years I have also participated in a working group on Ecology and Population Genetics.
