Started research on plant mitochondria in 1996-98 before brief time managing and commissioning research portfolio for UK Ministry of Agriculture. Returned to academic research in 2000 working on plant mitochondrial dynamics. Professor in Canada from 2008-12 and from 2012 in Angers, France.
