Summary

I have joind Prof. Nick Talbot's group in 2010 as a Haplin PhD Scholar. I am investigating the role of the exocyst complex in polarized exocytosis in Rice blast fungus Magnaporthe oryzae. The molecular basis of secretion of effector proteins and the organization of the secretory apparatus in the rice blast fungus is not well understood. I am trying to determine the mechanism which involves effector secretion form M. oryzae invasive hyphae to the host rice cells.
