Summary

Tumors are complex ecosystem of cells residing in genetically and phenotypically diverse states. A key challenge is to dissect the interdependence between various cell populations. I am studying the phenotypic and functional heterogeneity of cancer cells by amalgamation of genetic fate-mapping and single-cell genomics. Our holistic approach will allow us to apprehend the role of de-differentiation in epithelial tumors and pave the way for similar efforts for other type of cancers.
