Data Science
As a Professor of Data Science, my work encompasses a wide range of activities. First and foremost, I am responsible for developing and delivering high-quality courses and curricula in computer and information sciences to both undergraduate and graduate students. This involves designing courses that cover topics such as data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modeling, as well as programming languages such as Python and R. Additionally, I advise and mentor students on their academic progress and assist them with their graduation projects. I also interview students for scholarships to support their academic pursuits. My research activities focus on exploring the applications of data science in various fields, including healthcare, business, and social sciences. I design and conduct research in computer and information sciences, publish my findings in reputable journals and conferences, and secure external funding to support my research. In addition to my teaching and research activities, I have been involved in the accreditation process of the School of Economics and Business Administration (SEBA) at Saint Mary's College of California, which is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). As a faculty member, I have participated in the development of the school's strategic plan and have contributed to the achievement of its goals. Finally, I participate in departmental and university-wide committees, initiatives, and activities, stay current with developments in computer and information sciences, provide service to the broader community by sharing expertise in computer and information sciences, participate in professional organizations, and collaborate with other researchers and practitioners in computer and information sciences within the university and beyond.
