Petar Ozretić
Summary
Dr. Petar Ozretić is a Senior Research Associate at the Ruđer Bošković Institute, Zagreb, Croatia. Having received his Diploma degree from the Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb in 2005, Dr. Ozretić was employed as a Professional Associate at the Ruđer Bošković Institute in 2006. He had become an Assistant at the same institute in 2007. After a one-year research fellowship at the Centre for Integrative Biology in Trento under the instruction of Professor Sonja Levanat and Professor Alberto Inga (2011 to 2012), Dr. Ozretić returned to the Ruđer Bošković Institute and obtained his PhD degree in 2013. He was a Senior Assistant at the same institute until 2017 when he was promoted to a Research Associate, and from November 2023 he is a Senior Research Associate. Dr. Ozretić was promoted to an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek in 2018. His ongoing research interests are regulation of the Hedgehog-GLI signaling pathway by non-coding RNAs in ovarian cancer and interaction between Sonic hedgehog protein and sex hormone receptors in breast and head and neck tumors. He is a member of the Editorial Council of Libri Oncologioci Croatian Journal of Oncology, a reviewer of numerous scientific journals and has published more than 55 peer-reviewed articles. Dr. Ozretić serves as a Secretary of the Croatian Association for Cancer Research from 2009. Currently, he is the Head of Laboratory for Hereditary Cancer at the Ruđer Bošković Institute.
