Summary

I am a Professor of Soil Science & Geo-ecology and currently the Dean, College of Agriculture and Food Science, Visayas State University, Leyte, Philippines. My research interests are soil-landscape processes, soil development & characteristics, soil degradation processes, and soil fertility management. I obtained my doctoral degree (Dr.sc.agr) in soil science from the University of Hohenheim in Stuttgart, Germany under Prof. Dr. Karl Stahr. I did postgraduate studies in soil science, geography, and plant nutrition at Justus Liebig University, Giessen, and postdoctorate studies at Martin Luther University, Halle, with Prof. Dr. Reinhold Jahn, and at the National Taiwan University with Prof. Dr. Z.S. Chen. Some of the recognitions I received: Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellowship, DAAD Fellowship, IRRI Research Fellowship, SEARCA Regional Professorial Chair, and Sigma Xi The Scientific Research Honor Society (elected member).
