Summary
I have been working on the impact of environmental and climate change on plants for over 35 years. After a BSc in Ecology and a PhD in plant environmental physiology in the UK I worked as a post-doc for 4 years with CSIRO in Australia researching the effect of high CO2 on plant growth and water use. I was then a lecturer in Agricultural Meteorology at Univ Reading, UK 1985-1995, then a Reader in Plant Environmental Physiology at Univ. Essex until 2009. Since then I have been working on climate change impacts, mitigation and adaptation for forestry at Forest Research, a government research institute in the UK providing scientific expertise and evidence for the forestry sector, for government and other stakeholders, mainly in the UK.
