Summary

I am a PhD student and research assistant in the department of Biogeography at Trier University in Germany. In the course of my work with harlequin toads (genus Atelopus) in Brazil and French Guiana, my research interest has become more focused on animal coloration, signals and behavior with an emphasis on predator-prey interactions. Although having mainly worked with amphibians, I am generally interested in behavioral and evolutionary ecology related to (foremost visual) signals and their multiple functions in other organisms as well (currently getting psyched about spiders!)
I currently teach Animal Physiology and Anatomy for undergraduate students and supervise Bachelor and Master theses addressing different questions surrounding unstudied conspicuous coloration in animals.
