Summary
Dr. Novotny is a medical epidemiologist with extensive experience in tobacco control research as well as governmental employment as a health diplomat. He was an Assistant Surgeon General in the US Public Health Service and Deputy Assistant Secretary for International and Refugee Health. He currently co-directs a PhD program in Global Health and conducts research on TB and smoking, cigarette butt environmental pollution, and HIV-affected orphans.
