Summary

I am interested in the evolutionary ecology of parasites. I am fascinated by topics such as coevolution, the evolution of host range size and of virulence. I use avian haemosporidian blood parasites as a system because this group is incredibly diverse and a lot is still unknown about their basic biology and effects on hosts. This makes it both a challenging but also a rewarding system to work on. In my free time I promote the public understanding of science, specifically of evolution.
