Improved plaque assay for human coronaviruses 229E and OC43
Rogerio Sotelo-Mundo –– The method proposed by Bracci et al. provides a practical assay to evaluate antiviral compounds using a cellular assay that does not rely on reverse transcriptase-PCR. The use of milder human coronavirus strains HCoV-229E and OC43 in BSL-2 biosafety conditions will permit the evaluation of potential drugs in an in vitro antiviral assay.
Combination of circulating miR-145-5p/miR-191-5p as biomarker for breast cancer detection
Barbara Bartolini –– Breast cancer still causes many deaths, and it is clear that early detection can play a huge role in modulating a positive outcome. Screening tests are available but every improvement in finding biomarkers easy to be identified with non-invasive screening will be well accepted by patients clinicians. In addition, the cntribution of non coding RNA to cancr biology is currently a topic of major interest.
In vitro and in vivo hypolipidemic properties of the aqueous extract of Spirulina platensis, cultivated in colored flasks under artificial illumination
Thiago Parente –– It provides a relevant contribution to the production of hypolipidemic compounds from cultivated Spirulina algae.
Investigation of acute-phase proteins and cytokines response in goats with contagious caprine pleuropneumonia with special reference to their diagnostic accuracy
Korakot Nganvongpanit –– Acute-phase proteins had valued diagnostic potentialities in response to infection. This study had evaluated the diagnostic accuracy of selected acute-phase proteins and proinflammatory cytokines in goats with contagious caprine pleuropneumonia. The result of this study endorses the significance of selected acute-phase proteins and proinflammatory cytokines as additional screening diagnostic parameters for naturally occurring contagious caprine pleuropneumonia in goats.
Differentially expressed serum proteins in children with or without asthma as determined using isobaric tags for relative and absolute quantitation proteomics
Abhiram Maddi –– This article is probably one of the very few to examine differentially expressed serum proteins in asthma patients. It may provide significant information related to diagnosis and therapy.
Identification and functional characterization of SlDronc in Spodoptera littoralis
Gianluca Tettamanti –– This study expands knowledge on the apoptotic pathway in Lepidoptera.
In vitro anti-diabetic effects and phytochemical profiling of novel varieties of Cinnamomum zeylanicum (L.) extracts
Jara Pérez-Jiménez –– The authors performed a proper characterization of the product, with evaluation of in vitro biological activities. The results they obtained may be the basis for future studies.
Construction of fibronectin conditional gene knock-out mice and the effect of fibronectin gene knockout on hematopoietic, biochemical and immune parameters in mice
Howard Young –– It provides new data on the role of fibronecttin on host systems, with an emphasis on immune function
Comparing sediment DNA extraction methods for assessing organic enrichment associated with marine aquaculture
Owen Wangensteen –– A well-designed study which compares biodiversity results obtained from different DNA extraction methods for marine sediments. This comparison is crucial to help marine ecologists to make the right method choice in future molecular biodiversity studies.
Differences in small noncoding RNAs profile between bull X and Y sperm
Korakot Nganvongpanit –– This work has shown the different sncRNA profiles of X and Y sperm in cattle and understanding of their potential roles in the regulation of sex differences in sperm and early embryonic development.

Yes you can get "non-findings" published but it was tough! The most rounds of reviews I've had in the 20 mss I've published...It's open access! "Early maternal separation is not associated with changes in telomere length in domestic kittens"
