Looking for the sponge loop: analyses of detritus on a Caribbean forereef using stable isotope and eDNA metabarcoding techniques
"This paper helps to better understand the various factors that contribute to detritus in a coral reef ecosystem. The combination of methods (isotopic analysis and eDNA) helps to provide a comprehensive picture of how detritus flows through this system. While the question itself is novel, the combination of techniques used will help to evaluate and better understand other nutrient cycles and flows in a wider range of habitats and ecosystems."

Population structure and fecundity of the Xanthid crab Leptodius exaratus (H. Milne Edwards, 1834) on the rocky shore of Gujarat state, India
"A Xanthid crab, Leptodius exaratus (H. Milne Edwards, 1834), was examined for its population structure and breeding biology on the rocky intertidal region along the Saurashtra coast, Gujarat state, India."

Seventeen-year study reveals fluctuations in key ecological indicators on two reef crests in Cuba
"It is a very long monitoring study to evaluate temporal changes in coral cover that can be useful to continue to evaluate the health of Acropora palmata in Cuba."

Distribution and demographics of mysids (Crustacea: Mysida) as prey for gray whales (Eschrichtius robustus) in northwest Washington state
"This study improves our understanding of gray whale prey in the Pacific Coast Feeding Group range by providing the first information on the demographic composition of sampled mysids, spatial and temporal variation in sampled mysid assemblages, and patterns of concurrent whale distribution in northwest Washington."

Age, growth, reproduction and mortality of Xenocypris argentea (Günther,1868) in the lower reaches of the Tangwang River, China
"Xenocypris argentea is a commercial species in China. The results of this study will provide valuable scientific data for sustainable fisheries management."

Development of a new control rule for managing anthropogenic removals of protected, endangered or threatened species in marine ecosystems
"This is an important advance in an understudied area of species management"

Impacts of tilapia aquaculture on native fish diversity at an ecologically important reservoir
"Nice example of how finfish culture can impact wild fish populations due to escaped farm fish."

Spatial ecology of the Giant Sea Bass, Stereolepis gigas, in a southern California kelp forest as determined by acoustic telemetry
"This study used acoustic telemetry to characterize the residency and seasonality of Giant Sea Bass space use in one of the largest kelp forests in southern California, and identified how tagged individuals interact with local spatial management and fishing activity."

Mass mortality event of the giant barrel sponge Xestospongia sp.: population dynamics and size distribution in Koh Phangan, Gulf of Thailand
"The submitted manuscript represents an important report of a massive mortality event of a conspicuous sponge in the Gulf of Thailand, showing the importance of constant monitoring of reef environments and the establishment of Marine Protected Areas."
