Grew up in rural New England went to undergraduate college and then to veterinary school (VMD) and graduate school (PhD) thereafter followed by a postdoctoral position studying brain and spinal cord biology. Joined the faculty at several universities and have been at the college of veterinary medicine at Michigan State University for more than 25 years. While I am an anatomist and neurobiologist by training understanding the biology of the horse foot has been my focused passion of research.
