Defn of validity

"number of valid types in a set" appears first in Sec 2.1 and the next two occurrences of "valid" also refer to specimens, namely types. But the final usage of "valid" is "If two concepts, both previously considered to be valid"

Are there meant to be set theoretic definitions of "valid" for these usages?
