If seeds can be dispersed by hydrochory, surely they can be dispersed over longer distances by ducks or other waterbirds? Perhaps within terrestrial areas other granivorous birds disperse the seeds by endozoochory. If the foliage is toxic, that is irrelevant to these birds.
