It is commendable to name a species after an often overlooked paleontologist, a woman in addition to that. However, it is is all the most necessary to be careful when naming a taxon. Christiane Mendrez was a woman, so Microwhaistsia mendrezi must be spelt Microwhaitsia mendrezae in accordance with Article 31.1.2 of the ICZN, as indicated here :
