Could these articles be used to judge the public's reaction to biobanks?

Would it be feasible to measure the public's interaction with each article (comments, mentions, shares, etc) to gauge the reaction to biobanks in general? It may be that, even though they are outnumbered, articles that elaborate more on the potential risks and hazards of biobanks (and maybe even portray them in a less than favorable light) create more discussion and thus have a larger impact on public psyche.

Great idea. However, I don't think the database we used (Factiva) aggregates comments, mentions and shares. Also, our dataset included only print articles, and not web news. I suppose we could analyze letters to the editor (which we excluded), but I think the searches caught only few, if at all.
