'Pooled' library with shared barcodes?

Hi, I am a little confused by this idea of pooled vs unpooled libraries here. By 'pooled', do you mean all the 4 individuals in each library share just one barcode (ie total 2 barcodes), whereas the 8 'unpooled' ones each have one barcode (ie total 8 barcodes required)? If this is the case, how do you demultiplex the 4 individuals in each of the 2 libraries?
