What is the reason behind the 8:1 ratio of PDMS to curing agent?

The manufacturer (Dow corning) of Sylgard 184 recommends a 10:1 ratio of PDMS to curing agent. I have investigated different ratios some times ago and found the 10:1 ratio to be most suitable for microfluidic systems. What is your reasoning for using a 8:1 ratio?
