A few questions, to enhance my undestanding of the paper

Hi there. My name is Aaisha, a fellow paleontology enthusiast. I have a few questions regarding this study. These stem from my curiosity alone, and I am in no way challenging this awesome and detailed study. I'd appreciate an elaboration on the questions below.

  1. I understand that as no dorsal view has been provided after Ebrahim et al. (2014) reconstruction, the dorsal view used in the studies has been based of off other large theropods. However, I've read in an article I currently cannot recall that the Spinosaurus was, in fact, wider when viewed from the front than even T. rex. Is that a true claim? If it is so, the dorsal view used in the study would appear to be too slender. Is it possible that the wider view would stabilise it, preventing it from rolling sideways, as the current model is?

  2. While the study proves that the Spinosaurus was incapable of sinking, even with deflated lungs, would it have been possible for it to dive downwards by propelling itself?

  3. Many people argue that the fact it was incapable of fully immersing itself underwater would have hardly been detrimental to the Spinosaurus, as most fossils were found in areas of shallow waters, and it would've been able to simply stretch its neck below water and snatch prey. Is this a valid argument, based of off the locations of the fossils, and the surrounding areas?

I know it's a lot of questions, but I really want to know more about this creature. Thanks a lot!
