In the methods, the authors note that "The time of coleoid divergence from Nautiloidea was fixed at 270 mya (Kroger, Vinther & Fuchs, 2011)", but here, they talk about "calibrating the Octobrachia-Decabrachia divergence at 270 Mya (Kroger, Vinther & Fuchs, 2011)". Those are two different nodes. Based on Kroger et al., 2011, I think the calibrated node was the Decabrachia-Octobrachia divergence (in which case the statement here would be correct and the statement in the methods erroneous), but I am not sure, because I don't see 270 Mya anywhere in Kroger et al., 2011. They state that "the coleoids were estimated to have diverged in the early to middle Permian (∼276 ± 75 Ma), while Nautilus diversified from coleoids at the Silurian/Devonian boundary (∼416 ± 60 Ma).", so it is unclear to me where 270 Mya comes from.
