You say that the "restriction represents the vast majority of the known geological range of C. apertus." I am slightly confused by this and maybe this is because I am not a Cretaceous expert. Are you saying that the stratigraphic section that is not included in this analysis represents the majority of the known geological range? Or are you saying that very little stratigraphic range has been cut off and the sampled range is the vast majority of the known range? I agree with the methodology I just want to be sure I am understanding precisely the implications of the restriction.
