Is it time to call a spade a spade?

It is increasingly accepted that this species is Squalus suckleyi and hence the common name is the Spotted spiny dogfish, and not the Spiny dogfish. Since this is a model species in physiology is it now timely to consider whether to start calling this species by its recognized name and then we can work to retrospectively partition previous literature on 'Spiny dogfish'. The life history differences between these two species are striking and if we had enough resources it would be great to see if the physiology differs too.
