Autonomous self-pollination, not autogamy
Viewed 391 times

Avoid confusion: the term autogamy literally means self-fertilization and is the opposite of allogamy, outcrossing. What you test here is if the plants are able to self-pollinate in the absence of pollinators, not if they are able to set seed after selfing (either within or among flowers). This is why you should use the term autonomous self-pollination, or spontaneous self-pollination.
