I would like to known what is the average size of the alginate beads used in this studies, and whether the effects observed could be related to the fact that some chemical signals such as TGF could have difficulties to transport though this matrix, and thus MSCs in this culture system would be exposed to different differentiation media than MSCs in pellets or in 2D.
